Utopian literature is the foundation of many science fiction art creations. The visualization of scenes in utopian literature can help to understand the space in literary works more vividly and forms inspiration for the research of space design in the future. Based on the fusion of virtual and real information technology, we designed an experience space in the 6*9 interior. Light steel and particleboard were used to divide the space into two areas with different topographic experiences. Then we used the projection to add virtual experience to the physical space, presenting the scenes and emotional experiences in The Dispossessed. We hope that people can experience the idea of this utopian novel through this project: the utopia you are after is completely different from what you think. In terms of technology, the project mainly adopts UWB, Arduino, Arena and other technologies to project people’s positions into the game written by UE4, and then the game is projected into the real space through the projector to realize playing in real life. An acrylic ball, integrated with experience feedback components such as a UWB tag and vibration motor, would be held by players to represent them. After construction, we invited more than 20 teachers and students to experience the project. We found that the addition of virtual space to physical space was beneficial, but the instability of UWB or other components could ruin the experience. This project, as an experiment, hopes to explore the new trend of space renewal in the post carbon era, which is the parallel shaping of virtual space and physical space. The completion of this project makes us realize that the addition of virtual space for physical space is beneficial, better expressing the idea of the designer.
